Warli is a traditional art form of Maharashtra. Its roots can be traced to as early as the 10th century A.D. These paintings are distinctive with their vivid contrast expressions and these paintings are mainly dominated by basic geometric shapes like circles, triangles and squares. These geometric shapes stand as a symbol of natural elements in our environment. Warli paintings are made up of natural color.

In the painting the artist is drawing his own imagination wherein the tribals are celebrating a wedding event in the evening and in the celebration tribals are performing dance and the bride and groom are riding on horse  with their mates this shows the bride and groom riding on horse is a very old ritual.
