Scented rice, also known as aromatic rice or perfumed rice, has a scent in its grains and plant parts that can be detected in the field, during milling, and while cooking and storing. The scent can be found in many types of rice, including indica and japonica, glutinous and non-glutinous, long and short, coarse and fine-grain, and black, red, and white. However, wild rice varieties do not have a scent.
