The journey of each cup you brew began during the 19th century when commercial plantation of tea was undertaken by the British in the Brahmaputra Valley in Assam, hoping to produce an alternative to the Chinese Black Tea. Legends also speak of the Singpho tribe of Assam who used to brew the leaves of the indigenous assamica variety of the tea plant long before colonialization. The first seeds of the Camellia sinensis assamica that were planted in what is today known as Borgaon Tea Estate have paved the way for lush green plantation, flanked by the Borgang river, a tributary of the mighty Brahmaputra. The choicest of tea leaves are plucked with love and care from the estate and undergo a series of transformations, imbibing the Way of Life of the Chai Bagaan at each stage, and come straight to your doorstep - 100% fresh & original, without any added flavours.
