A treasure trove of many essential nutrients, Brown Top Millet is said to strengthen the digestibility and absorption of starch in the body and reduces bloating and cramping. Brown Top Millet should be soaked in water in 1:2 ratio for about half an hour in an open vessel. Thereafter, cook it in a medium flame with the lid covered. Reduce the flame after one boil. After 10 minutes, take it off the flame and firmly close the lid and let it cook in the steam. Stirring when still wet tends to make it mushy, hence, it is advised to let it settle before consuming it with curry, rasam etc.
